RE: NOMINATIONS FOR EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
In accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws of the Kingston Independent Nylon Workers Union, nominations, and elections of officers to the Executive Committee will be held as follows:
NOMINATIONS
Nominations for office shall be made by filing the required nomination form, signed by the nominator, seconder, and nominee for the following positions:
(a) President
(b) Vice President
(c) Recording Secretary
(d) Treasurer
(e) Trustees – three required
ADVANCE NOMINATIONS
Nomination forms will be available as of October 30th, 2023 and must be submitted by November 15th, 2023. There will be forms at the plant as well or by emailing Janice Mulrooney at janice.mulrooney@kinuw.ca or by contacting any member of the Executive Committee or Election Committee.
You can send your nomination form into Janice at janice.mulrooney@kinwu.ca, or drop it off at the Union office or at the plant office. If you drop it off at the Union office and it is not open, you can drop it into the mailbox that is beside the front door. The front door of the office is in the parking lot behind Captain George’s on Gardiners Road. This is where the election will be held as well.
QUALIFICATION FOR OFFICE
Candidates for office must be members in good standing for at least two (2) consecutive years immediately prior to the date of the elections. NOTE: ALL FORMS NEED A SECONDER.

Further notice of voting dates, times and location will be posted by the Election Committee at a later date.

We are pleased to announce that the appointment of Scott Wilson as President of the Union and Todd Conley as Recording Secretary of the Union.
Scholarship applications are now being accepted for sons and daughters of Union Members who will be attending Post Secondary School in the fall. Please summit them by September 15th, 2022. You can pick up applications at the office or print off the website.

Members Update
• The terms of a new 3 year agreement between KINWU and EIDCA (DuPont, Kingston Site) has been ratified.
• KINWU’s next General Membership is scheduled for March 31st, 2022 @ 7:45 pm. Member can attend in person or through Teams. There will be a TEAMS meeting invite sent out. The auditor’s
report for the year 2021 will be presented at this meeting.

Members Update
• The results of the ratification vote on the renewal of the collective agreement between KINWU and INVISTA are that the proposed contact has been ratified. Again, we would like to thank all members who submitted proposals, attended meetings, and voted.
• The Executive has selected a replacement for the vacant Trustee position. Todd Conley of CP will be joining the executive as a Trustee for the remainder of the term. We are very excited to have Todd’s knowledge and experience join the team. We would like to thank all those who submitted for the position.
• KINWU’s next General Membership is scheduled for March 31st, 2022 @ 7:45 pm. There will be a TEAMS meeting invite sent out. Please stay tuned for updates as the date approaches about whether we can have in person attendance. The auditor report for the year 2021 will be presented at this meeting.
• KINWU will be entering into collective bargaining for its members at Dupont, beginning in late February.
• The Union Executive is in the process of finding a replacement for our long time Office Administrator, Donna Thomas. Donna has chosen to retire later this year, and we would like to wish her all the best in retirement. Her hard work and dedication to the union has been invaluable to its successful operation.
